Glass, both literal and symbolic, serves as a portal: in architecture, it opens spaces to light; in microscopes and telescopes, it reveals realms beyond our natural perception. By tracing the evolution of vision, rooted in our aquatic ancestors’ experience of light refracting through water, the works hint at deep ancestral connections between perception, light, and consciousness itself.
In the immersive installation 'Rigid Fluids turn Portal', viewers engage directly with the raw materials of the spectacle, becoming participants in the work’s unfolding by using their phones' torch to project through small glass sculptures onto an 2 way screen. A hidden camera feeds this projection live into the animations, which are projected across the space.
These small glass works were also featured in the collaborative video pieces below.
